Patented Inclinometer Technology: Precision Exactly Where the Law Draws the Line.
An onboard weighing system doesn't need to be a weighbridge. The fines, the safety risk and the wasted payload all live in one narrow window: the approach to the legal limit. OBW's patented inclinometer technology is purpose-built for that window — engineered for high accuracy across roughly 80–110% of gross vehicle weight, the span where overload protection and payload optimization are actually decided.
Instead of inferring weight from spring deflection like conventional systems, the inclinometer transducers measure the change in chassis attitude as the vehicle is loaded — per axle, so an unevenly distributed load shows up just as clearly as an overweight one. No load cells in the load path, no moving parts, nothing to wear or stretch, no recalibration — ever. It mounts to any suspension type, coil, leaf or air, on any number of axles, and it's the only technology of its kind on the market. Body builders fit it in about two hours, calibrate in thirty minutes, and forget it's there.

Since May 2021, Directive (EU) 2015/719 obliges every member state to actively identify likely-overweight vehicles — using road sensors or onboard weighing equipment — and report check results to Brussels every two years. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1213 standardizes onboard weighing equipment for remote enforcement readout.
The NHVR's Smart OBM regime makes type-approved onboard mass systems a condition of road access for high-productivity and higher-mass-limit vehicles, paired with mandatory telematics — extended to further vehicle classes and states (Queensland and South Australia from January 2027).
