Our Founder

Dr. Felix Zandman

Dr. Zandman developed the first Bulk Metal® foil resistors and, later, foil strain gages, innovations that set industry standards and remain the technological core of everything VPG builds today. Before founding Vishay Intertechnology in Malvern, Pennsylvania in 1962, he taught stress analysis at MIT, UCLA, and Wayne State University. His contributions to science and industry were later recognized with France’s Legion of Honor and the U.S. Electronic Industries Alliance Medal of Honor, among other honors.
